ASQoD: Confidence

Today we enjoyed a mid-tour break, reviewing the auditions we heard to date, engaging in some more repertoire brainstorming, and catching up on office work. Here’s day 11 of #ASQoD*

“I am not afraid of storms,
for I have learned how to sail my ship.”
Louisa May Alcott

Ah, the storms of the audition season…

Passing squalls of delayed trains, lost music binders, rumpled business suits.

Thunderstorms of battling reflux, tanking the high notes in your aria, not getting a callback.

And veritable hurricanes of serious illness, personal loss, and crushing rejection.

But you know how to sail your ship, and you’re committed to the journey. Eventually you will crack this code or determine that something else will make you happier. It really doesn’t matter.

You’ve done the work. Now let go of the worry.

The Audition Season Quote of the Day is a month-long series brought to you by Wolf Trap Opera.
