Why can you reveal the dates but not the operas to be performed? Is it assumed by Wolf Trap that all opera-lovers love all operas? I certainly do not, and I would wager that there are many more like me who feel the same way. A save-the-date notice without revealing what it is for which I am saving the date is silly.
We will be able to give you full repertoire and casting details on March 3 when the Wolf Trap 2016 season is announced. I do understand what you’re saying (and yes, I know that many other people feel the same way), and I know that the save-the-date gesture is only somewhat helpful as a placeholder. But some of our regular patrons appreciate knowing what the calendar options are, just to pencil them in while they wait for full information. So sorry for the wait; I hope that when the shows are announced, there’s something that you’ll enjoy.
