ASQoD: Optimism

greater-things-wide

For your consideration, day 16 of #ASQoD*, coming to you from our audition stop in Houston, TX.

“The purpose of life is to be defeated by greater and greater things.”
Rainier Maria Rilke

We can never forget that we who read this are more fortunate than most other people in the history of the world. Gratitude is a powerful tool. But it should never translate into complacency.

If our needs for food, shelter, and companionship are met, we have an obligation to reach toward greater and greater things. And even though occasional defeat is inevitable, if we doggedly put ourselves out there, we will increasingly prevail.

Honor how far you’ve come, assess your current skill set, and aim high.

“There are two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
Albert Einstein
